Oh those? Me and sis did that to our lesson horses before we got horses. They weren't as fun as you'd think

I see. It's probably just pretty for pictures. And then you can take it out afterwards so they don't tangle. I used to braid colored ribbons in my horses hair. It looked cool but I haven't done it in awhile

Yeah, that's probably the best plan. They look weird if the horse's mane isn't as long as the colored stuff too.

I've only had one horse who's mane actually grows and that's Ginger. It grows pretty fast too.
 
She's an arabian mix of some sort. Not a purebred arab, but she's definitely mostly arab.
