M or F? Male traits, no spurs..

Can anybody help me figure out if this chicken is a male or female? The breed is a polish maran. It's 3 months old. We were told when we got it that it was a girl, now it's crowing in the mornings. It acts like a male, but no spurs at all. Thanks ahead!

The deep red facial skin at that age is what clinched the deal for me, cockerel... Oh and, I'm not familiar with the breed, so if this assumption is off base for the breed, please advise as I really want to learn.

The messy hairdo on a polish screams cockerel. Crowing at 3 months is another sure giveaway.
You won't see spur growth on some breeds till 6 months to a year.
And with many breeds, especially Mediterranean class, hens have spurs too so in those breeds, presence of spurs is not an indication of sex.

That's what they said he was at Rual King. I'm new to chickens, so I don't know much more on them. They were wrong about the gender so..maybe he is part buff.
