Good morning! Today, I will start sharing book 2. This book is entitled:

Mabel's World, Book 2: Living the Dream

The themes of the cartoons explore the many types of dreams there are from actual dreams to aspirations we have and even some nightmares...what to do to make your hopes and plans come true and what to do when things don't go according to plans. Today, I am attaching pics of the cover both front and back. If you enlarge the backcover you can read the book synopsis better.

Have you ever thought how many different expressions we say that are chicken related? My son teaches at a college and one of his courses is an English as a second language course. He used this cartoon as an example of what an "expression" is like in English. Here is "Hen Party."

Maybe you can come up with even more that I missed!

These cartoons are delightful.
This language in is also very clever and would be a great teaching aid!

Does anyone else have chickens who love cabbage? I have sometimes put one on a rope in their yard for them to nibble...they LOVE it...and when I let them free range, they have tried to eat mine.

Remember the expression, "Watching paint dry"? Here is the the chicken equivalent---"Watching Cabbage Grow." This is 8 out of 10 in this series.

Mine love cabbage too. I hang it and they bounce it back and forth between them grabbing big bites.

The first cartoon in Mabel's World 2 is a repeat of the last one in Mabel's World 1. You can check it out in this thread above to remind yourself of how it ended. (Roo proposes to Mabel but we don't know if she accepted. )

Here is the next part of our story in "Mabel's World 2, Living the Dream",
Chapter 1, called "Dreamscape".
The cartoon is called "Rude Awakening".

It appears our Mabel may have just been dreaming!
