Made a friend! (If you dont like spiders move on!)

So, recently put a garden of plants around my chicken coop, I have cucumbers, various beans and sunflowers growing around the chicken coop.

Today I noticed this bad boy in the top corner of the coop.

S/he is about the size of my hand, freaked me out until I found out its just a common black and yellow garden spider! It's going to have a feast with all the bugs around. Doesn't look like they harm chickens, but if that isn't true let me know.

I am not a fan of spiders but after I found out these are common and not venomous I felt a little better. Still terrified to go in the coop and turn the shavings, but we will get there.

Wow i have never seen them that big. I had one a few years ago in our garden it was so small. I havrnt seen one since.

you can actually hand feed them but they have poor eyesight so I've read they accidentally nip sometimes.

there nice and don't tend to be aggressive but yes a spider that big is scary
