Madison breed info?

I ordered these chicks from Purely Poultry this year. Their website states they are a new hybrid developed in Wisconsin, that I supposed to be a good brown egg layer. Looks like we are some of the first to have these chickens.

My experience so far is good. I ordered 10 of these chicks. I got 11 live chicks in the order. To date 2 have died. One was my fault as I moved the chicks to the garage, I didn't get the heater turned on quickly enough and one was smothered as the chicks tried to stay warm. The other chick died of an unknown cause to me. It's feet turned dark, it stopped eating and drinking and died within hours.

The remaining chicks are three weeks old and are thriving. They are inquisitive as each time I walk by they stop and look up at me. My Great Dane loves them and mothers them.

I will post more as they mature and get out to the yard where I plot free range them.

I went to just to "look" and brought home the last Madison pullet from the feed store. She's gorgeous- she almost looks like a wheaten ameraucana. She has blueish green legs. Any have these colored legs? Brown eggs?

i have been lookin at these bird for two yrs. yea there crossed at Purely Poultry. eggs per yr 280 - 300

I apologize for not posting pictures as I promised earlier in this thread. I was unfortunate to experience heavy predation on these hens. They are too trusting and too heavy to escape from predators. They were picked off fast before I could improve my run. I now have only two left. I also experienced egg binding issues along with foot/leg problems (may have been my fault. Not enough room in brooder for proper development). Def. not a good breed for free range. Egg size/# and temperment are great but will not order again. May work out great for some people though.

Mine turned out to not be a Madison. Or if she is she is an exact copy of an Easter egger. She lays blue eggs.
