Maggie's Broken Heart- ...I am soooo mad !!!!

Quote:
My husband and I have this discussion all the time. He gets all worried when my OEGB and my Modern Game bantam roos (I have one of each) crow in the backyard. They are tiny and their crows are very un-impressive, but he worries about it making people mad.

It ticks me off because I know he's right, people will complain even though I personally think it's only fair that they be understanding about my roosters since, after all, I have put up with a decade of listening to their screaming brats, dogs barking day and night, and the loud music and yelling from their pool parties.

But no, all of that stuff is considered perfectly fine while my little roosters are outlaws! Thank goodness we are moving at the end of the month to a new house on 5 acres. Woo hoo!

Sorry to hear about your Maggie.

We have a neighbor who is total @$$ and complained about our roosters. If he had just talked to us he would have known that they were going to be processed. Instead he calls the town and get this tells them that my husband is running a junk yard. Yea he has two classic cars for restoration, my horse trailer, and a bucket truck which all are registered. So my husband took the byproducts of the chickens and put them all around the guys house and property in kind of hidden spots. You could hear him yelling about the smell of dead animals for weeks it was great.

Last weekend I was in my back yard, listening to the neighborhood noises. My neighbors 2 doors down have 5 hens + 4 chicks. We have 4 pullets. I coudl hear the chickens clucking & making "egg-laying" noise, but it wasn't loud.

What WAS loud was the incessant dog barking. It wasn't one dog, it was various dogs around the neighborhood all barking every once in a while back & forth to each other. The chicken noise just stood out because it's different.

So with that in mind, her roo would be ok to keep because you are waiting till he gets really fat and plump before you eat him. He has to be 25 lbs before you eat him....right!!!! That would make perfect sense to an idiot!!!
