We had three days of 60 degree weather and someone smelled the stench...the ACO came to visit...said all looked fine but that someone complained to the City that I had the "stench from all that faeces all over the yard" so she had to go take a better look! Two days later I got a hold of her and she said yes, there are feathers all over as I warned they'd been molting to prepare for winter as these are mostly very young birds and she agreed there is not a problem w/faeces and I'd better ditch the smelly maggot idea...
As the weather has since been cloudy and cooler, I haven't had time with closing down 3 greenhouses in the class I was taking, but I did start smoking salmon, baking cupcakes and barbeque dinners to "enhance good smells" in the neighborhood
The cooler w/one smelly and maggot filled silver salmon backbone will be clorox'd and put away by this weekend! I'll just pressure cook salmon backbone for treats and calcium for the birds from now, they love that!
