NoseyChickens so glad you son is home safe and I am saying lots of prayers for your dad. It is scary when you are not near them.

I have second test hatch going in my new Brinsea and these are due to hatch on the 28th. My first run had 3 eggs in lockdown and two hatched. Cute little buggers. They are serama/OEGB crosses along with three TSC broodermates which are Mille Fleur d'Uccle

Dehydration can be VERY serious, so I am sure that is what caused his problems. Keep us updated please.

My sister called. My Dad had a small heart attack. He is serverly anemic on top of being dehydrated. He appears to be losing blood some how, but the don't know how. I really don't understand how that's possible. Surgery is possible. He is stable. He sounds good. No one can get a hold of my Step Mom because she is inMexico and has no cell service. She is staying at a time share which is set up like an apartment so there is no front desk to call or anything. Her daughter is trying everything to get a holdof her with no luck. I am more worried now than I was before. My sister is on her way to him in the morning. She only lives 2 1/2 hours from him. I wish I was not so far away.

I think my pair of Welsh Harlequin are great. They don't like me so much (they think I ate their friends when they were a few days old), yet they love treats and take food from my hand and tolerate me picking them up. They're also attached to the chickens they were raised with. I think the duck is smarter and the drake just follows her lead. They don't fly or even jump well. When they first hear me they quack / rasp a lot, but not loud. The only time they're loud is if they're separated - like one is free-ranging and the other is in the coop. Overall, they're pretty calm. & LOTS of eggs... just about everyday. Here's a pic of mine last fall.

I was "gone" for a week (no good very bad week) and there were only 20 pages of new posts?! Come on you guys, I was expecting more.

Nosey chickens, so sorry to hear about your dad.

The past week here it's been above freezing and rainy. There's about 2-3 inches of mud in my chicken run. We've lost about 2 feet of snow (still probably 2 feet left to go). In 4 days I fly out to Phoenix. Yesterday it was 45 here and I was wearing a cotton T-shirt and no jacket/sweater/etc. It's going to be 91 when I fly into Phoenix. I am going to die.

Lack of posting is the only way I can keep up.

Do you have family here? You won't die. You'll LOVE it.

I can't wait till it's warm enough to go camping again. It is 46 degrees over here now and we are supposed to have a high of 57 degrees. That's good with me. I was born and raised in FL and do not miss the hot weather. I can't wait till it gets to be about 70 degrees and then wish it will just stay there. I love it when the weather is good enough to open your windows and feel the nice Spring or fall breeze coming through it.

NoseyChickens: Glad your son is home safe and keeping fingers crossed for your dad.
