Well my duck eggs hatched.Only 5 out of ten went into lockdown. Half of them quit late in the game. I am guessing from a temp spike.
Four pipped and zipped. 2 made it out on thier own, and 2 got stuck. (I swear I never opened the bator!) I helped them out but one was gone by the time I realized they needed help. i had left the house for a few hours to pick up the kids and get groceries. One was fully zipped. top nearly off and dead. the other one made it out. the top was sticky on it and I just took that off left it in the egg and let it make its way out. But I dont think it will make it because of a big buldge on its bottom. Its moving all over in the bator so time will tell. This is my first hatch from start to finish in the incubator. I have hatched some out in the incubator but only after they were abandoned half way through. UGH not sure what I did wrong.
I do have three duck eggs under a broody doing well, polish and ameraucanas due next Friday and I just set 13 more polish and cochin eggs.
My Dad goes in to see the surgen tomrrow. I hope they can schedule the surgery sooner rather than later. Between worrying about him and an 8 week old puppy I am getting NO sleep.
