Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

Quote:
I got 24 "mixed colorful layer" eggs from Muggsmagee, and 10 bantam Cochins from somewhere else. At lockdown, went down to 16 eggs. One bantam cochin has hatched - little yeller thingie with feathered legs - and a buff mix and black mix, both with Ameraucana in 'em to make a black and a buff EE, thus far. Some eggs are blue, some are brown, some are cream. Muggs marked the eggs and when something hatches, I ask her what they are. LOL

In another 'bator, I have some local store market BROWN eggs (donated by HHandbasket) cooking, and in another TWO MiniAdvance EX 'bators, I have 12 call duck eggs.

Thanks . I'm kinda glad I've only got one bator , puts a control on my habit , uh , I mean hobby .

It's a habit admit it. Ken knows we have a habit, he collects eggs, he brings home new and pretty ducks, he spends untold hours re-organizing the coop and pond. It is a habit. Hobbit!!!!! It's a HOBBIT!!!!

How coincidental those are both 5-letter words that start with H!!

Deb - thank goodness! LOL We almost ended up with whites, but I let my DS choose which color to get and he likes the grays!

I was just suggesting to Linda today she do the same. She has some BEAUTIFUL birds in her yard & some of them need to be given little honeymoon suites all to themselves... heheheeh.

That is exactly what I need ..... more honeymoon suites!

Really now, you should consider a second one. One for incubating and one for hatching!

Or 3...two for incubating and one for hatching... not that I do that or anything...

Well , to be honest , I have one back in town partially built that holds 282 eggs , and the Hovabator was supposed to be the hatcher for it . LOL

It took a while, but I'm caught up.

I thought the NYD hatch thread was entertaining.... this one is even better.

Well all of my tomatoes and peppers froze this morning. It hit 24 degrees. What's up with that?

An Ice Cube really does have a chance here!

Well, if you have ideas for contests, PM me.

We will definitely be doing Best Hatch rate % for 18 or more eggs set.

We will have a cutest chick.

We will have a Best Overall Participant in the hatch vote....

I will sponsor a "How many chicks will Mahonri hatch?" contest.

We won't be doing a first chick on Easter Sunday.

So glad I only work a half day tomorrow.....
