I believe I was just about to punch the button on this one when my computer froze up last night.

I set 64 eggs.

Ok I guess 3,634 eggs hatch.

And I got my serama hen hatching as we speak, on a totally unrelated note. Set four 10-days-in-incubator eggs under her after she'd been broody for 3 days. Thought she'd either give up or not hatch them as they were due Sunday and still not pip last night - check this morning and I have one chick and two pips, yahey! Think te fourth is a goner though. Dead impressed, she's very young and couldn't have laid three eggs before getting the sit down virus!

Stupid broodies are now occupying 3 of my 9 nesting boxes, one on each level. Once I get some sleep I'm going to tackle this insubordination. But I just don't have the energy to care enough this morning.

And my coop is overfull, I cannot justify putting any eggs/chicks under them. I just can't. I still have 12 eggs coming from Muggs that I want to keep all the pullets from and maybe a rooster. If I had less chicken ADD and could settle on one breed that I could sell easily (cause turkens sure as heck ain't it) I might be able to hatch more but I can't even GIVE these turken suckers away for free.

Those broodies are going to complain, but you know what? Life just isn't fair.



Now I've got to get back to work... 3 more days left in this position! Wahoooooo!

SCG: It is Easter time so just go to the dollar store find some really pretty wooden eggs or colorful hard plastic ones and give those girls some fake eggs to give them variety instead of just golf balls

and they are just going to have to be happy with that. I have 2 hens right now that are taking up nest boxes and I just gave them some golf balls, but I am feeling generous and I think I will get them some Easter eggs and they can sit all they want. I REFUSE TO GIVE THEM REAL EGGS!! I have too many chicks! I have tried to lock them up in cages, I have taken them out of the nest 20 times a day and they don't give up!

Oh no, I ave my priorities WELL worked out! Got given a free Easter egg when I was in my local store today as I spent a small fortune (again) and do you think it will last until Easter? Not a chance in h*ll.

My spare euros go on chicken-related bits and pieces, you know, more birds, timber and wire fencing, more srews, etc etc, or the sweet Malayan treat known as CHOCOLATE. All I need to do to reach nirvana is figure out ow to make edible choclate hens that still lay eggs, oh yeah!
