Personally, I think OUR guesses are way too fun! Imagine if either came true.

Up and at 'em.

60 for a high tomorrow? In PHOENIX?

ever heard the phrase, "When Hell freezes over"?

Tomorrow might be the day...

Long day at work planned. Ins. co. still hasn't "approved" the MRI. Whatever.... I'll end up paying out of pocket anyway because of my high deductible.

OK you guys are totally a bad influence! I was going to wait to candle this time! I really was! With you guys all candling tho I caved in. I thought I'd have a few eggs to pull to make room since I overfilled my incubator by 3 eggs but NONE of them are clear! I'm pretty sure one of the silkies has a blood ring though. I'm not very good at candling, but still! These are all shipped eggs and I had several crack in shipping so I was expecting quite a few to be duds. If I have all these chicks hatch out my hubby is gonna kill me!

You'll all have to wait for the sun to come up for better pictures--but here is a pic of one of the MFNNs:

and the chickies that hatched last night:

My 5 yr old just said he is going to name the one on the right "Scott".

....

"Or Night Fury...or Kurt ....or Nightcrawler"

I wonder what he was watching last night, LOL!

I candled mine on the 5th-they are Appleyard ducks however, and a week farther along than most of yours.

Seven are alive and well! One had a blood ring, one was scrambled, 3 were clear, and one had a live duck in it that I missed...

That leaves 14 eggs-7 duck and 7 Orps that I will wait to candle at lockdown.

I have to go candle...the overfilled incubators are just too much for hubby to handle while I'm gone this weekend (turn this; don't touch that...) and it'll make it a doable job for him.

I should be able to see into enough to pull real non-starts, and a lot of my eggs are shipped, which will make it a smaller number of developers. I love my mega-watt LED flashlight, because I can see VERY well into the eggs.

Off I go!!

CAUTION!!!! If you don't know what you're looking at and haven't a REALLY good candler and experience, DON'T pull eggs unless they stink.

Just DON'T!

I do have a good bit of experience-I am not sure how I missed this one, except that it was not moving and looked "sloshy," if that makes sense? It was definitely alive, but at 10 days was very small.

Back before Christmas, Lowe's had the really big LED Mag-Lites for $14!

We got one and it is the BEST light to candle with!!! I wish we would have grabbed a few more!
