I have a question for everyone. We have a newbie in this forum about to head down a bad road. Do I go ahead and tell them it is not a good idea, or keep my big mouth shut? They set ONE egg in the bator.

OH PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do something!

Yes, you must do it. We newbies need saving from ourselves.

It needs a while to a) stop bleeding, b) gather strangth for absorbing yolk and c) attempting to zip. Some can zip around the wrong end, but not many do. I'd say leave it 24 hours, or if it seems to get very weak, make the hole slightly bigger. Remember: it has had a crap start already so don't make it any worse!!!

Thanks Sarah! She is doing good now that she is out of the turner. Actually has a full pip now and you can see her pushing it open. No new blood so it must of been done awhile ago.

BTW SheRa (cracked egg) made it to lockdown and looks to have an internal pip as well. Thanks again for all you help.

Okay, everyone: This is the last call for Flapper Contest entries!

If you don't see your entry on the Flapper Contest Page , you need to pm me what post # it is and I'll get it on there. I need all entries (or a pm about yours) by MIDNIGHT tonight!

I want to see more FLAPPERS!!

Get 'em goin', folks!!

QUESTION: I woke up this morning and my thermometer read 110. I have no idea how long it had been that high. Is there any way they could survive that?
(and yes in case you had noticed, my eggs already hatched and I had gone ahead and set more eggs. These had only been incubating about 24 hours)

I am so excited...I just candled my eggs and only had 2 that were unfertile! My light is not good enough to tell if there are early quitters. One looked like that possibly...but the last time I opened one it was still alive so I put it back in. Didnt candle the buttons at all but am encouraged with the other eggs. My dd and I though we actually saw movement in one! Go chicks go! Got mega humidity now so hopefully they will pop out with ease! Terri O
