Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

It needs a while to a) stop bleeding, b) gather strangth for absorbing yolk and c) attempting to zip. Some can zip around the wrong end, but not many do. I'd say leave it 24 hours, or if it seems to get very weak, make the hole slightly bigger. Remember: it has had a crap start already so don't make it any worse!!!

Thanks Sarah! She is doing good now that she is out of the turner. Actually has a full pip now and you can see her pushing it open. No new blood so it must of been done awhile ago.

BTW SheRa (cracked egg) made it to lockdown and looks to have an internal pip as well. Thanks again for all you help.

You're more than welcome! I just require a pic of SheRa...

OK current tabs: 8/10 duclkings alive and well, and loving my bathtub (10 hatched, two died) 3/7 goslings in brooder, and ?? internally pipped - can't tell as my candling lamp has run out of batteries. Think one may still be live, not sure. One I know seems to have NO air cell at all, very odd. It used to ave one, at lockdown. Any ideas folks?
