ETA: Last fall , I fell down my front porch steps , caught most of my weight on my right hand , dislocating the last two joints of my pinkie . At the time , I was building a bator in my front yard . Last Friday , I went back there , after finally digging out here from the blizzard , to move the bator here to finish it . Like an idiot , I never thought about the snow there being as deep or deeper . Seeing everything buried , I tried to wade though the snow to at least get my old mail . There was a 3 foot drift on the steps , this time I fell up them LOL My finger healed all crooked and will not straghten out nor bend all the way closed , and while I caught enough of my weight on the same hand to make it hurt a little , there was no further damage ; probably because my ribs caught the top step [ the only one not buried in snow ] and took most of the impact . The bator's still there . I love growing old

yeah, well, Deb would have to stand in line behind DW, she already called me that.

Amazing how your life can change in an instant.

One minute you are happily gliding down a trail, the next you are trying to pick yourself up, washing all of the blood off with the last of the canteen water and then limping the last 3/4 of a mile down the trail. What is weird is that the part that hurt the most just after was the right knee that no longer has any skin on it. What kills now is the right big toe that sticks out from the rest of the foot.
I took x-rays of it down at the office. It looks like I cracked a bone.... near a previous mountain injury that I had to have surgically pinned together.

The left shoulder is bruised, the left elbow, the left knee and my left ankle, but none of that hurts like my right foot. I can barely walk. You live and learn...

Oh man , sounds like you really buggered yourself up . I hope you're right handed , but even then , being on your feet for your practise is not going to be any fun , if even possible . You're in my prayers now ................................. must be why I woke up and turned the computer on . Last time I had to have surgery , there was a last minute delay and switch of surgeons because the Dr. scheduled to run the stents was injured in a bicycle accident . I guess most of never think about our doctors sometimes needing medical attention also .
I'm afraid to say , back at the time , I was slow to forgive the poor dentist who came in to pull a tooth for me even though he had been home sick with the flu ................................................... I found out the next week that he had pulled the wrong tooth .

OUCH! Hope you have a speedy recovery; but that's liable to hurt for awhile, even after it's healed.
