Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

Didn't I say you were chicken-famous, like, 2 years ago?

Ring leader indeed.

I will be home tomorrow after 430 PM. Gots to work, or whatever it is I do all day.

Raising chickens, and especially hatching their eggs, can be addictive. Please proceed with care and hatch responcibly!

(the really sad part - I've learned how true this is - the hard way!!!!!!)

Me too! I bought my first chickens for eggs and now here I am hatching, breeding, and selling.

crazy, I'll be getting eggs from 3 places for this hatch. (Besides my backyard)

I pray I have room in the bators.

Icelandics, the bluest of blue Ameraucanas and then whatever else I can fit in and stack!

I'm on my way to Phoenix! I'd tell you I'll bring the good hatching luck with me, but I would be severely lying. My last hatched ended up with one chick (a roo sex link - go me) for which I had to PURCHASE 2 additional (ok, I could have purchased 1 but you know how it is) chicks to brood along with it. And of those 2, one of my "leghorns" has 9 toes, hairy legs and is starting to grow a head poof. Sigh.

You are in! #120!

Tell us what you are hatching and what you'll be cooking them in. (21 days at 100 degrees of course)

Last hatch was very sad. They were due on 3/12. Got 4 on 3/12, 4 more on 3/13 and 2 on 3/14. Out of 85 eggs! Threw out the bators and have 2 Eco 20's coming for the Easter hatch. Should be here Friday. I think there was some kind oof funky bacteria in there or something. A bunch pipped and had greenish stuff coming out and then died. The Styro bators came used from a guy on a farm and they had been stored in a open barn for a couple years so, who knows what crawled on them.

New bators, new hatch. I'll be ready!
