Ok so just candled... 10 turkeys and 3 ducks are good

had only 2 clears of the turkeys 3 quitter turkeys and 2 duck quitters. I don't think that's all too bad for the first time with these birds

I'm guessing 250 more than I have right now. that would be 24, 730.

I throw a wet washcloth in part of one of the wells and the rest along the floor under the tray. I use a syringe with needle and add between 30 and 50 mls daily right onto the washcloth. Your number will be different I'm sure but play with it.

I am not even going to try to catch up. What a DAY!!!! Made an appointment to go check out the fainting goats tomorrow. Found and registered a ranch name - Northern Winds Ranch, banded half the chickens. ID'd the mutts we are gonna get rid of, picked up a refridgerator, went to Costco, put my kitty to sleep, went out to lunch. I'm tired.

I went to candle last night and my flashlight died, so I got more batteries for tonight.

Still it's only got up to 69 in there.....

Thanks, maybe I'll try the wash cloth trick like SCG suggested. I'll only have ten eggs in there during the hatch, 7 SLBs and 3 BLRW. The other annoying thing about this bator is the automatic turner. Seems like every time I want to candle the eggs the incubator is way over on it's side so I have to try to remember to check back in 15-20 minutes to try to catch it in it's upright position. I sure don't want to lift it off the turner and drop it.
