Mahonri's 2nd Annual BYC EASTER HATCH. Post pics of your chicks!

What breed? Fully hatched chick on day 19, huh? Wow!

She's a Naked Neck from SuperChemicalGirl. We named her Lola. She has the cutest little white spot on her face. I hope it stays there.

And I think it is day 20. I set them on the second, it's the twenty-second today.

All but one are pipped now. Half of them are already named.

What a cutie! With that black stripe on her beak, I think I have her twin!

Current stats:
Set 21 eggs (8 Welsummer, 7 Speckled Sussex, 6 Easter Egger)

Candled on Day 14, down to 5 Welsummer, 4 Speckled Sussex, and 6 Easter Egger - 15 eggs into lockdown on Day 18

So far, 5/6 Easter Eggers have hatched and 1/4 Speckled Sussex. Another Speckled Sussex is on its way out, and that's the last of my current pips.
I'm not sure about the remaining EE and 2 SSs, but one of the Welsummer eggs was wiggling some today, so I am hoping that the Welsummers are just waiting for Day 21.

I've got 6 slimy and fuzzy butts in the incubator, and I am having fun!

Congrats and good luck to all!

So... do I leave her in there, or can I quickly take her out? My dad also wants a broody to hatch out at least one of the eggs. I just don't want to shrink-wrap them.

Split is Light Sussex split to Coronation. Should get both Lights and Coronations from them. A black chick? Hmmmm, I can only think that is an Orp (black split to Lavender).

I'll soon know what's in the other; it's started to zip.

The thunderstorm keeps breaking my wirless connection; good news is my power is still on.

Split #2 is out and either a Light or Coro. Sussex.

I was either seeing a dark hole, or a pipped vein; not a black chick.

My earler report that all the Orps developed was obviously wrong; there were none in the box.

Every clear from you was marked Coro[not counting the 2 clear Marans eggs], all marked Split went to lockdown; I just assumed Split was a different breed and must be Orp splits. My bad.

Oh, I'm back from my trip a couple weeks ago. I am just at work, and therefore can't watch the incubators like so many other.

Oh, okay!

Yeah, all of them developed! One leghorn egg isn't pipped yet, but we shined a flashlight on it, and we could see it moving. It still has another day to hatch! it's only day 20!
