Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

"Ladies and gentlemen - start your engine" keeps going on and on in my head, oh it must be the race day coming. Fired up the bator last night. Humidity - checked, temp - checked, eggs - checked. Ready to go, waiting for the green light. Is it tomorrow?

I'll admit, I'm going to give my hens a protein boost early next year so that I can have plenty eggs ready for New Year's hatch. Plenty enough to go out to more than 2 people. . .

Finally finished my last hatch so I can get that bator cleaned up and ready to go I sure hope my swap eggs show up today....I do have about a doz of my own and the turkeys have been blessing me too.....next year I'll have the birds penned the way I want them just going to hope they will be done molting.....

So I have a question for all who have built bators I am working plans now and need to know which is better for the hatching tray to be on the bottom or top?
Hoping to build a cabinet style and I am on the fence about location of hatching tray. I have 3 Hova going all the time so about time to move up!
I do not have internet at home so will have to see all the new chicks after we come back from NY holiday it will take all day I am sure.Won't be able to post my babies till then either so not in the running for 1st chick either
