Well, my "moving incubator" was disturbed by a darn goose today, but luckily she and the eggs are okay..

And yes, I candled a couple. On day 3.

Hey, it's hardly much harm, my "moving incubator" leaves the eggs once a day anyway, so lifting her up to peep on a couple eggs won't hurt.

The Coturnix is meat/egg production and I sell eggs and chicks too.
The Buttons are pets and I sell the adults as I don't know enough about Button breeding to sell the eggs. unless someone just wants random colored buttons

Oh and I sell the feather pelts of my coturnix that I cull for meat to the fly fishing peeps

*after I dry the skins of course.

I raise Coturnix for Meat and Eggs and I raise Buttons for just pets. Quail eggs are considered better than chicken eggs and are sold at gormet resturants.

Here is one for the adorable factor.

We had a lone chick hatch and it was freezing outside so it got to be a "house chicken" for a while. It got to watch T.V. with the husband and the dog and this is totally how they would be found in the recliner. Dog and chick under the blanket asleep on hubby's chest. Can you say SPOILED !!!

Regarding quail eggs - perhaps I will read up on it then, check and see what exactly I would need to be set up for quail. They certainly are beautiful. And the eggs are gorgeous too.

I'm so disapointed my Serama hen wasn't laying. I wanted to hatch some more of these.

This is Zip, my Serama/Cochin Cross roo.
