Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Well...the boys just got home.

Looks like they'll be sleeping in.

I sent them out to cover the trees, and Uncle Martin got clothslined. Literally.

I would bet that Stormy's chick is a roo .... HUGE thick legs!

Stormy is my favorite for type and shows the most coppering of my Blue Coopers.
She only has one or two feathers on each leg

and I was not going to
breed her due to this, but she is laying one of the darkest eggs...so she is in the
breeder pen and I'm hoping the roo's feathering will offset this in some of her chicks.

She is a butterball with wide open lower set tail....not fully coppered, but better than my
other two Blue Copper gals. She is not showing her full coppering here, as this pic was
taken when she was only 4.5 months old. She is now showing the best eye and hackle
color of all my Blue Coppers.

One chick I thought had no leg feathering, but when I looked closer there is light feathering. May be hers! She is gorgeous! The one I think is a roo, marked as Stormy's egg, has plenty of leg feathering though.

ETA: Correction .... YES, it is her egg- chick that has the very little leg feathering! I just double checked and took a picture!

Something awakened me.

the Brown egg from Halo is zipping.... it's been pipped for quite sometime. Will it be done in 8 minutes?

We shall see... if I can stay awake that long!!! Man I zonked right out.

Looks like the Mountain and West Coast time zones are falling asleep at the wheel.

I've got 3 chicks that all hatched within the last hour or so, still waiting on the pips to do their thing. Don't know if it's going to happen soon enough to be a winner, but it's doubtful.
