I was mostly trying to work you guys up with that comment... however, part of it is true. I certainly can't keep TWENTY chicks in addition to the 32 I already have. Just not possible. Especially when half of them are going to be roosters.
Incubating was amazing. It was so neat to see something through the egg when candling. It was neat to see my first pip, zip and hatch within such a short period of time. But it was also heartbreaking to have to take chicks into my bathroom to unshrink wrap them and then worry about whether I did the right thing or not. And now I'm trying to avoid the brooder downstairs like the plague because the person taking the excess chicks isn't picking them up until next weekend and I have plenty of time (since I took a week off work) to bond with these little fuzzbutts.
I don't know if I can go through that again.
