Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Great picture. Yours is much further along than ours, though.

Okay, eggsperts...we just picked up some local eggs fresh from underneath the chicken. Obviously we can't start them right now since our fighter is still fighting. I assume that won't go on for more than 24 hours now, right??

HOW and FOR HOW LONG can I store them??

How fresh is fresh? You can store them up to 10 days before hatch viability starts to drop. Store them pointy end down in a cool place until you can set them.

Contest for bragging rights

So my lavender wheaten project pullet egg is hatching but I still can't see what it is yet. This is my very first F2 hatch with this project and I wasn't expecting either of the two eggs to hatch. I have a whole carton now waiting to go in the incubator. Here are the stats on what is in there

56.25% chance Black
18.75% chance Wheaten
18.75% chance Lavender
6.25% chance Lavender Wheaten

So what's your guess??

Pretty dang fresh! We stood there as she gathered them from the boxes (those were there maybe 12 hours) and took 3 from underneath a chicken!

How cool should they be? I can put them in the garage that is usually 58 degrees or in the house that is normally 68 degrees or in the refrigerator. Which is better?

Garage or house will be good. We keep ours in the kitchen until we set them. I know people hatch eggs that have been in the fridge, but that idea just scares me.
