Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Well, I just got an email that my Lemon Blue cochin eggs won't ship until tomorrow.
They won't be here until AT LEAST Saturday-which of course means I can't set them until Sunday.
I refuse to curse...

I've taken eggs out of a box, and put them right into a 100 degree incubator with a turner and they did great.
Have the bator up to temp and when they get there Saturday... put them in!

... but those are eye candy so if you think it's better to let them settle... then yeah, Sunday... and we'll all be cheering you on Jan 2nd!

No pics yet, but...

In my kitchen I have 24 beautiful eggs all marked with an "I" for Icelandics, that came from No. California. They are beautiful Mary!
I also have some nice big eggs from Halo in Florida!

EXCELLENT packaging job for all 36 eggs. WONDERFUL!... no cracks, no mishaps.

On the north lawn out back in an isolation cage are two pretty Ameraucanas. They had eaten all of the cucumbers that Peachick had placed in there with them and they were FIESTY! A pretty little wheaten pullet and a gorgeous little Splash Wheaten Ameraucana Roo!
I did a thorough exam, they are mite and lice free, nostrils and mouths are clear and healthy. Since their arrival, they've been eating high protien feed as well as a cut up apple and some scratch. I'll get them some salmon to sample later. When I opened the box, they were squawking and scared to death, I placed the pullet in the cage first and then when I tried to grab the roo, he jumped straight up and out and then the chase was on. Wish someone would have been filming me... and yes I got winded. He is a VERY healthy, fiesty bird!

Three more boxes to arrive... hopefully two tomorrow and one on Friday and then I'll be ready.
I'm starting up the bators again tomorrow so that they'll be up and ready to place eggs at noon on Saturday.
Laree has graciously offered to hatch some babies for me from my hens eggs. She is the best.

I'm so very grateful that everything is falling into place.

Great news about your eggs and birds Mahonri. Please promise not to freak if the Icelandics aren't fertile. Maybe you should stack more of your own eggs in there so that if the Icelandics aren't fertile you can toss them and have replacements. Just a thought.
My eggs for the Nervous Breakdown Hatch-a-thon are being shipped today!

Oh you mean white orpingtons....theres hopefully no buff in there.

Yep that's what I mean. Sorry about that and thanks.

Speaking of which...I don't have any of those lovely white orpingtons and wish I did so...If you are selling eggs in the future - remember me.

Oh no, this can't be good. Poor Mahonri-one more thing to fret about.
I LOVE the name you've given the Big Hatch, Warden!
