I've been speed reading posts for three days trying to keep up here and with other things too ; looked like a few were doubtful they had many viable eggs . Has anyone had to give up on all for sure ?

When I tried to download Essentials, it is making me upgrade my Explorer, which I dont use, I use Chrome. So is windows essentials going to work for me if I dont use Explorer?

Ok, my Platinum Membership has been restored so I can carry-on fighting with Kathy via PM's. Hit me with your best shot!

good morning all,

Corgihouse, I am in the same boat about candeling...........
Have hatched FBCM's in the past and could never see through the eggs........
So, am on a real learning curve. Right now, I believe my N.Y.D. eggs are infertile. Look clear to me.
These are SLW's.
But will keep them going in case it is my eyes or inexperience.
The BLRW's due the 22nd.I could see big dark blobs on day 12.

Question..........
I want to start these babies out on the water nipples.
I have the the push in type.
I do not know what kind of container I should use????????
Any ideas are appreciated.
Toni

nope, I do it with Chrome.

What is your operating system? XP?, Vista? (yuk) Windows 7?

Well , I'm off here for a while , I've got to head to town . Tomorrow will not be a good day for keeping up here either ; leaving here first thing to go pick up one or two show quality , dark Cornish cockerals . I checked the route on Ask and my Tom Tom ............................ looks like about 35 miles NE of here as the crow flies .................................... to drive it you first have to drive a half hour south to cross the river .

Still , its a pretty short drive considering it seems very difficult to locate breeders of quality Cornish willing to sell , and both Ameraucana males I bought involved further drives . I've been searching for a nice Cornish without success for nearly a year , so very grateful I finally found a source so close [ and maybe a little stoked too

Think someone around here passed a bug off to me. I ache.

Anyway I did try to candle one bator.

Results?

I'm blind!

OK I did notice several detached aircells. Only part I could see of the dark eggs. Put them back in carefully, cause you never know.

My Christmas hatch is pretty much a bust. I see viens when I should be seeing mass. I do see 1 or 2 that may be ok, but I would have thought I would have more developement.

I use 3 thermometers per bator and I calibrate my hygrometers, so I don't know what's going on.

I've had great hatches and lost of none hatches, but I'm determined to be able to get something to hatch every set.

Right now I'm wishing I hadn't gotten rid of any chicks from my own eggs.

After that long moult and the cold and shorter days, I haven't had an egg laid around here since August! The games were laying, but they aren't with a roo, but they stopped in September.

OH I ache to bad to even go out and check all the birds. I should be refilling feed today, but I don't think I can lift anything.

I sat in this chair and now I can'r get up!

BTW all the pics on here are fantastic. Bearbut* kids, kids and chicks and oh I've always wanted a white peacock. Great pictures, all of them.
