Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

OH, I seeeeeee! I think the number of posts contest is .... How many posts at the strike of the New Year Mahonri time zone! Does that sound right? Make sense? This contest is limited to the people involved in the hatch only.

Excellent! I think that's very fair. ('Cause I sure don't want anybody to have to track more than one time zone for number of posts!!! And it IS Mahroni's thread!! Yay, Mahroni!)

The worst time I had was with blue and black Jersey Giants and blue and black Orpingtons. OMG, I had to wait months before I could tell them apart! It was awful. Never again will I do that. I band them at hatch now, if there are others in the same hatcher that would look similar. Other people use mesh or wire to keep the eggs apart BEFORE they hatch. Good luck!

I was thinking the same thing! How dare she forget that poor little Icelandic in with those Delawares!

Oop, I'm out on Mahonri's #, guessed 44 iirc.

Guessing......um.........4600, I guess.

Putting mine into lockdown tonight. Going to go peer and look for wigglers.

yeah, I'd say your are busy enough. Babies are so much more work than adults, but the rewards are great.

My blue EE laid her first egg today. I was stoked... Her daddy is my BW Ameraucana and her mamma was a Black Sex Link that was a REALLY good layer... went three months without missing a day... I hope she'll lay like her mamma!

THAT does NOT count against me. NO, no, no! I must have had someone else in here helping me out, or something. Some distraction or something caused that. Certainly not my fault ..... I'm pretty sure it wasn't my fault.

i am so glad to hear others stick foreheads to bators, watching for any type of change!! almost better than the wait for CHRISTmas!!

just wondered, with the fair weather predicted for this weekend in cincinnati, would anyone know where i could locate some JAVA hatching eggs?
