Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Me too! I have pips but no babies! I want to win a GFM because I am too frugal to buy one for myself - my DH will kill me since I grump about HIS forum memberships.. did I mention HIS forum costs $150?!?!.

But again, if mine don't pop out between 12:00 and 12:01 I could be out of the race. I'll be asleep until 4ish.

I don't even have pips yet. Just some peeping. In fact, one was so noisy just a minute ago that my dog(who believes herself to be the princess of the house) looked up and glared at the bator then looked at me like "Uhh please do something about that noise!" Too funny. We're in the same boat! I wouldn't spend the money...but it's a combination of being frugal and a poor college student! Ha!

I think I am the only one with out a pip.

I have to go to a hockey game in about 30 minutes so no more 'bator stalking for me. I'll see what pips/hatches at about 12:30am.

Happy New Years everyone.....I'll be watching BYC from my phone for sure.

Don't worry they'll be pipped in no time! I've been thinking I was the only one without and egg activity but just now I saw a pip. Maybe you'll have some babies when you get back from the game!

We have the first hatched..or possibly the last of 2010..Hatched a Cornish Meat Bird Cross.Several more pips but lots left in waiting.
I doubt I will be up to see if I have a New Years hatch at midnight..I'm betting 2011 will look the same as today if I'm awake or not it will come

Here is my second little darling. They are both barred black bantam cochins split to barred buff bantam cochins. Salt n Pepa! The yellow one was dragging the shell around and when it came off there was a drop of blood. I touched the area with my styptic pencil and it sealed immediately.

I just saw pips in my waxed crack Icelandic and two of my MF cochins!

PEOPLE!!!!!

No fretting and freaking out just yet!! I only have one pip (the duck) as of 9 when I last looked, and yet I know I'll have little chickies! I've hatched gazillions, and opening the incubator once, or even a temp spike to 101* isn't a death sentence. Give them time! I don't count it done until day 24 unless I have a way to confirm it, and I'll usually just pip the very top of them and peek in- just in case. Sometimes they just take longer, and that's just the way it is.

Patience grasshoppers...it could still be perfectly fine.

I guess I'll go down and see what's going on...maybe I have pips by now.
