Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

I set 10, 8 hatched yesterday, one is rocking. Hopefully that one is going to come out today. I see no movement whatsoever on the #10 egg. I think that one is a goner.

My pip from 10:15 this morning has made a little bit more progress, though not alot. So I quickly candled and it has pip'd the aircell. I guess that's a good sign? It's still wiggling in there.

Broke down and did the no-no. The one that had been stuck at 3/4 zipped was shrink wrapped. I have gotten it out of the shell, cleaned it up as best I could before it could get too cold and stuck it back in the bator. No bleeding, looks like the yolk is fully absorbed and I think it pooped while I was cleaning it off. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst. If I hadn't helped it, it wouldn't have made it. It was realy stuck. I will just wait and see.

Huh? One gets rid of chicks? No, really? How odd. That happens?

Pssssst. Dsqard, I think we need to investigate why poor superchemicalgirl has developed such an odd belief.

Funny you guys!

The good news is I posted I had 14 chicks for sale and another BYCer is going to pick them up next weekend! And the last BLRW hatched... hopefully she won't notice beginner chicken math where 14 = 15. Also forgot my broody is on 4 eggs due next Saturday...

Sigh.
