Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

I'm calling this group " the survivors " . Was there a contest for the eggs that went through the hardest New Year's Eve ?

Silkies can sometimes be difficult. I am hatching silkie eggs from my own pen.. And I am not having much luck either. I had been getting anywhere from 90 to 100% hatch rate.. But this time, it's all gone wonky. You are not alone!!!

So glad I'm not alone! Well, I mean I hate it for your hatch but it's nice to know that I'm not just messing something up. I have been so thrilled that my temp and humidity has stayed so perfect. I candled at lockdown and knew which ones didn't make it but a majority were alive and well. so frustrating.

a couple of the contests can't be called until all the chicks have hatched.

At present I'm still hoping for my last two in the bator. If they hatch, a hatch participant wins (How many will Mahonri hatch) If they don't hatch, a non-hatch participant wins as it was open to all of BYC. I'm imagining this contest will be called by noon tomorrow.

Hatch rate won't be called until at least Tuesday evening.

I'm still getting nominations for "BEST HATCH PARTICIPANT".. PLEASE PM me with your nomination. You must be a member of the hatch to nominate. thanks for the response

Gorgeous chicks. With the power going out and all, this could be called the Miracle Hatch of 2011.

Thank you Kathy for all of your hard work on all the keeping track of all this stuff.

Don't know what we would have done without her!

I'm still semi sane!!!

Okay, this little fighter is still at it, but she appears to be zipping the length of the egg instead of the width. Obviously I have no experience with this, so I hope that's normal. At least I know she's still alive in there.
