Okay guys, I did it. The little chick was right beneath the surface. It had broken the inner membrane for it's beak. It peeped loudly as soon as I picked it up. I broke some around the area and exposed it's beak fully. When I attempted the membrane it bled, so I stopped and put it back in.
Did I do the right thing?!? Will it be okay?!??!!??!!
This is the best group shot I could get today.'
the dark one in the back looking at the camera is my sticky chick.
the one on the front right is the one I was worried about making it. It is the one with the funky vault. Its feathers are still stuck down to its head... feet seem a little curled so have made it shoes
always awful listening to em sort that crowing thang out
I know.
OMG one day I was helping my husband build pens and we here a cat strangling in the garage. Git in there and my BCN and Wheaten Marans looked at us like "what? I didn't do it" and then just started looking around like they wondered where the sound came from.

It should be fine. As long as it doesn't bleed profusely. Mine bled a little. I put it back 45 minutes ago.. And it's still in there chirping and wiggling!
