Mahonri's 2nd Annual NYDHatch, watching them grow...

Ms.FuzzyButts :

Good Lord Woman!! You could forge iron in that thing!!!! I like the way you operate though.... We could be roomies.. Only fight we would probably have is when to turn the heat off..

Or who gets to stand in front of the stove first! DH won't let me turn ours up past two. There are like three more settings I could go! Love pellet stoves and I think one of the best things I have bought in the last month is a heated mattress pad. Turn that sucker on about 10 minutes before bed (on HI of course!

) and it is like crawling into the dryer just after it has finished drying clothes! UUUUMMMMMM Toasty!

Ms.FuzzyButts :

Candled again before I left for work... The little trooper is still moving in the shell.

People turn the heat off?!

Also... we could get ourselves into A LOT of trouble being roomies - can you imagine how many emus we'd have?

And I agree on the heated mattress pad thing, much better than a heated blanket. However, if you use them together (you know, fry and broil) it's AMAZING. I have little grill marks on my butt when I wake up.

Congrats on the GFM!

OK now that you have like so much more space for pics, we want to see more of your chicks!

I will have to seriously have to think about this combo of heated mattress pad and electric blanket! OOOOHHH another thing that is totally awesome! Run your towels in the dryer right before you shower. When you get out, the towel is heated up. Feels great!

Am I the only one? that is thinking that if there are chicks still alive in Egg shells at this point after having been set on the 11th of December, they are either geese or ducks or...._________

HELLO ALL!

Sorry I have been gone. The company I am temping at is trying to go public, so I had a 13-hour day yesterday, pulling financial data for the investors and lawyers. WOOO!

How are everyone's chicks? Good? healthy?

I have a weak BLRW, who I had to peel out of a concrete membrane. Poor thing is bald, but gaining strength. Wish it luck--if it lives, it needs a name like "Toupee" or something. Thoughts?

*ears perk up* Iowa Blues? I've been searching and searching for Iowa Blues. Only found 2 sources, Ideal (which I'm not thrilled about) and Sandhill Preservation. Have an order placed with them for chicks this spring, 12 or so Iowa Blues and a selection of others for my mixed bag layer group. Can't wait. Love Iowa Blues!

Got pics? If you get eggs to sell, I'd be interested!

A group of us in Iowa got together and ordered from Ideal and Privett in September. I also bought some from a local breeder in Cedar Rapids to broaden the bloodline a bit. Still they all are from the same source - Sandhill originally. I have 5 roos and 10 pullets that are 15 - 19 weeks old. A couple of the older pullets are starting to show pink in thier combs, but most look pretty immature. Still I think I should have some available for the Easter hatch. I've never mailed eggs before, but I'm willing to give it a shot

These pics were taken 6 weeks ago. I have more current ones on my camera, so I'll try to get those uploaded soon.
