Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Beautiful pictures!

Chickenonthehill those are some gorgeous birds. I love that the red-head's eyes match her head feathers, very striking. If she gets on your bad side you can just send her up here to me

Time to get organized... I have swap eggs to send out and hopefully some coming in, I'm toying with the thought of tossin more turkeys in with this hatch too but that depends on how many eggs I get to set an how much room I have in the bator. Only 10 more days ...

Good morning hatchers!

The wind here has been awful. I keep getting knocked off (satellite). But, I do keep up.

I have 2 emu eggs in an incubator. Saturday, March 10, will be day 50.

EGG A is dancing ! ! ! Not so sure on egg B.

It's always prettiest just looking out the window, but inside the warm house!

And baking! I love when it's cold and dreary outside, warm and toasty inside, and yummy smells coming from the kitchen...............perfect combo!

Of course that all assumes I don't have to go outside, including for another load of firewood and the power doesn't go out,

Oh, Lordy!!! I sooooooo wish I could have emus!! I really just think they'd be the best. I'm just not sure they should be city pets...and I KNOW I can't have them at the farm.

I was expecting more of an olive egg from them, but they are mostly blue/green egg layers

very prolific though. Kind of odd really, both my Wellies and my AMs shut down laying over the winter, but these girls crank them out!

I'm getting a LOT of eggs, and I'll happily send some to anyone that one that wants some for the hatch for the cost of shipping.

I had to work late so DH did chores for me last night. He's pretty good with them so the only written instructions I left him was "put the eggs from the layer flock in the big basket and the eggs from the breeder pens in the little basket. Found the little basket when I got home with 4 Iowa Blue, 5 Ameraucana and 1 turkey egg. Do you think he's trying to tell me something?

Meant to post that I am IN. Just sent pm's out and making sure I will have eggs for the hatch. So far everything looks good.

I have everything under control but I am looking for some Icelandic eggs to round it all off. I pm'd Mary but no response so does anyone have any to sell? Please PM me.

Nancy
