Mahonri's 3rd Annual, BYC Easter Hatch-a-long!

Trying so hard to carve out a little piece of my property for a couple of milk goats. I loaded up about 20 soggy moldy rotten sheets (8x4) of plywood (left from the last owner of the property, so sweet of him) into the back of the truck and while it does look a bit better I have a lot more to go before I can get a fence up and get my girls. Oh my goodness those things were HEAVY! Can't do anymore today though, my back is sore and I have to go shower so I can go to parent teacher conferences.

I have a lovely pair of Silchins. They are really the cutest shape possible. I think this is the broodiest hen possible, as well. She lays 4 or 5 eggs then sits. She's done this twice and is all of 8 months old.

I don't intend to keep breeding this combo...I need to find someone to take them.

Sooooo cute!

Sugar in tea is an abomination unless it's Masala or Chai.

I LOOOOOOOOOVE tea...but want a single cup of coffee in the morning.

Only one for me too, but it's one pot. It has to be hot when I put it in the cup, but it can be flat out cold by the time I finish the cup, not a problem. Until about 20 years ago, it was only tea for me, but once I made the switch, I was hooked. But I do need cream and splenda.

Now here is what you can do if you think about how you are going about things and try to do it a little smarter.

I know it says future but this is actually how I do things now and the first diagram I posted was how I used to do things.
Awww, you work that way to make hearts in your path.

For those of you not fortunate enough to have gestating equines at your home, mares are notorious for being very secretive about foaling - a good adaptation for a wild horse, as they are completely helpless for a period of time during foaling, and don't want to give the predators a hint. It is, however, extremely frustrating for mare owners, as you have a very short amount of time to intervene if there is a problem with delivery. Mares can "hold it" until they are completely alone. Owners develop a look about them that "mare stare" describes completely.
my mares used to do that to me. I'd sit outside and wait for hours to watch them foal. Midnight on. I'd walk to the house to get coffee to stay warm 300 feet away come back and the foal would be on the ground.
I guess they know I am getting old most foal 12 pm to 6 pm now... Don't ask me why... the last 4 years they have done this I love it. Only one baby this year. It will be a buckskin....

A K Michelle,I'm not dreamin of my EMU, I'm dreamin of Kathy's EMUs, nothing raised in this house is ever going to do yard work, this we know.

Jessshan8: Cool Incubator plan, looks like a job for DH ~ can you guarantee he'll get shocked?
