What day are the eggs I sent due. I'm antsy and want to see how many hatch. You didn't by any chance mark them different by which were in the container and which weren't? Be nice to see which traveled best. Hope ya get a ton of chicks.

No, I didn't mark them differently. In fact I had them in different trays and then sorted them according to color. (Maybe I am a little OCD

) They are due on 3-8 in the evening. Between your eggs, a set of swap eggs and 27 of my eggs, I set a whopping 72 eggs.

I also candled my 4 pea eggs and I have 2 that are growing!!! Not that I can keep them.

Don't tell anyone---especially not my husband---but I found some duck eggs and tossed them in the incubator.

But dear! I thought they were REALLY HUGE chicken eggs!!...with weird thick, slick shells. Anyone could make that mistake.

Combine b and c ... I have some naked neck EE's that are just absolutely adorable and lay green and olive eggs.

Featherz- You can't get those from a hatchery!!!!

Actually the duck eggs I just hatched looked like my leghorn eggs.

I was a bit suspicious of them until they hatched with bills.

I'm not hard to convince. I did the NYD hatch AND the valentine's hatch so I have a lot of babies running around. Good thing there's a livestock auction near me and a few BYC'ers willing to take boys to humanely raise for freezer camp or I'd be on TV already explaining why my house is trashed and there are chickens under my bed.

That's how I ended up with turkeys. Shane was playing with the day-olds at the feed store, and fell in love with the "Weird looking chickens with the bump on their nose." I was ready to go, and he asked, "Aren't you going to buy some chicks? I really love these three." When I pointed out the three chicks in his lap were turkeys, he finally relented and let me hatch.

If someone with the knowledge and time on their hands would add me to the map I would appreciate it. Nor Cal, just above Sacramento.

I see I am still charged with helping keep Mahonri sane during this hatch-a-long too. Shouldn't that job rotate?

And you appear to be doing a good job keeping him sane, he's still out in public. I wouldn't change a thing until he breaks down.
