Quote: Ron how do you have your eggs tested. I started using Laynea Plus about 3 months ago and was interested in if it really works or am I wasting my money. Thank you Michele
That is a great reason to test. It looks like the Lab at UCD does not test the eggs. I took a pullet in for a Necorpsy there and it was free. The test said all was disease and samonella free.
I am checking with the Pacific Poultry Association to see what is available here. I found an article about eggs with lead in them in Portland. I am not worried about lead since I live in a house built in 1995 and before that it was a field.
Does any one here test their eggs? Testing was mentioned in the Chicken Whisperers book but he does not tell you how to have them tested. To an old time poultry person, he probably thinks we know where to have stuff like that done.![]()

Yep, those are your Icelandics! Off the top my head I think there is 136. The whole bottom layer is shipped eggs though, so we'll see.Kari, How many are in there?! I see some Icelandic eggs!! With that many eggs, maybe the old Farm Master does need to move to Iowa! Of course, then you'd just be filling it up!![]()
Yes, CA has an inspection service: http://www.cahfs.ucdavis.edu/services/lab_locations.cfmDoes CA have a free testing and inspection program?? I know some states do and others do not. Perhaps contacting the state inspectors is the route to finding a suitable testing lab.
I NEED ducks for a customer he wants what he calls "Buffs" how do get those much less incubate them...how cute would that be?
