I agree with you 100%Hubby is a diabetic. We've found really good success just eating as naturally as possible, avoiding prepared/processed foods, and we try to be locavores. I'm a natural food broker, so it's nice to have good raw foods and whatnot around, but it's important to try not to eat much that's been processed even then. Big thing to know: if your beef has been grass fed its whole life, it's really low in bad fats and cholesterol and high in important fatty acids. It's the corn-fed stuff that's not so hot.
Beef gets a bad rap--I don't think the research is detailed enough or IMO it would show grass fed beef is healthy beef. I find have my kids feed themselves is easy when so much raw food in the refridge. I stopped buying cold cereal long ago.
