Mail Carriers RANT!!

I have never seen funny farm, but I am now going to have to watch it. Dh says that if they see the camera the will bust it so he wants to put it up in the tree next to the mailbox.

Royd, I replaced that mailbox after it got broke the third time around, they cracked the whole thing sideways and it was unrepairable. So I bought one of those tin ones from the local hardware store which has 2 doors one int he back and one in the front. Dh looked at the mailbox and said they managed to damage one of the ribbits(sp?) so he is going to turn the mailbox around and use the good door, lol....

My mail carrier is one of the truely good guys. Vietnam vet, take no crap, go out of his way to help anyone kind of a guy. The local dipwads who conduct mailbox rodeos are another story. They use a snubbing pole in the back of a pick up lasso the mailbox and pull it out. Mine is presently cemented in place with 500 # of cement (slight hyperbole.) It will die next spring when mailbox baseball starts.

Psycho much? Definitely behind you one the HIDDEN camera thing... tampering with mail charges, but also I'd push for damage too.

And as to your 'friend' not choosing sides... that's no friend. A friend supports you when someone attacks you, they do not laugh while you are beaten... repeatedly... over the course of years... nope, not a friend at all. And I'll wager a guess that when the fit hits the shan and her friend is busted that you'll get an earful... hope I'm wrong, but from where I'm sitting it seems pretty clear that she HAS chosen a side, just not yours.

Game camera = my best friend thesedays. Security cams are getting cheaper and better, but honestly the quality I've seen on TV (TV, Youtube, news reports) isn't that great, and they record so much "blank space" you'd have to filter though. I like the PIR activation of the game cam, it only takes pictures when someone/something is actually there and you can actually recognize people in the pictures. Just my .02 on that matter.

You're gonna hafta move up the line a bit, get away from the small town post office supervisors. They are all covering for each other I'm sure. Fortunately mail box crimes are federal so you should get some support from somebody higher up the food chain.

Good for you for taking action. My sister in law worked as a mail carrier but her diabetes forced her to take an indoor job and she couldn't do some of the heavy lifting. Two of the ee's made her life hell - for being sick! She is the nicest sweetest person but finally she gathered enough evidence, sued the post office and won a settlement. I don't know where Canada Post finds em but to me it's the whole corporation that is rotten if the employees can get away with stuff like that. I've had great experiences with other govt branches but not Canada Post.
I love our local Post Office here. They are super nice and accomodating.
