I did mention the processing thing to my DH and he said he didnt think it was a good idea that our kids would probably never eat our chickens again.

They know we kill them just not all the details

spook can you contact that woman again from that other chicken group and see if she could spread the word for you in her group, via emails or their newsletter if they do one?
we go to swaps alot, and there is usually a set up fee, so if they (bird people) know they can come and sell for free you may get some to come.

i will contact new england bantam club, however response from them is iffy sometimes, i dont know what is up with that group, maybe they need some new blood in there..lol

Wow good job! The Litchfield fair grounds are a nice old fashion type of place. Probably 3 of us coming from here. Someone let me know what I can do to help as I have never attend any of the chickenstocks. I just might have to finally put some eggs in the incubator

Will do, I'll also see if my sister in law will make a basket for us to raffle off. Also, perhaps I could make some bags with wheat , groat and winter wheat for warm weather chicken treats. Hmmm, I will get in gear and spread the word.

I don't mind 9-2, it seems like everyone loaded up and left at the time scheduled (whick is good!) but so many of the community were still wandering around. Eh, what ever others feel, I put a email out to the Norther New England Bird Fanciers Club:

Greetings,
I want to invite everyone from the Northern New England Bird Fanciers Club to a Back Yard chickens "Chickenstock" (like Woodstock) event at the Litchfeild Fair Grounds on July 27, 2008!
We are so excited that New Hampshire crew had their first event at the Tractor Supply Company in Milford, NH. People came from all over just to see the whats what, also lots of sales of every kind of bird possible. It was just fun chatting with each other about the many types of animals that we all keep.
These gatherings are not for poultry only because many of us are not "show"quality nor have just chickens. We are going to have the full access to the fair grounds, if you wish to put on a demonstration of how to show, what it means to have quality birds, we would honestly love it! The interests are so huge, that the plan is to have a fun day!
If you are interested in joining in, please let me know so we can forward all or any information to the advertisements or give me a phone call at 207-___-___ .
Respectfully,
Kellie

Lets keep our fingers crossed. I have seen some people interested in how to show, or questions, perhaps this will work out to help people out!
