Well for all of you looking to re-home a rooster I am now in the market. My beautiful black orpington roo sacrificed himself to a fox the other day to protect his girls. And ever since then the young EE roo I have has started to challenge me. The first time he attacked from behind. We had a talk and everything was fine until tonight. He decided to try and come after me again. So he is going to freezer camp this weekend.
I'm not too fussy on the breed other than no RIR. Would just prefer no bantams. Currently I have one barred rock hen and several EE pullets. And certainly want a friendly boy. Otherwise he will be dinner. No need to keep a nasty roo around when there are so many nice ones out there.
I'm planning on going to both Sanford this weekend and Scarborough next weekend for the swaps so I could pick up then.

i have a couple of bantam roosters i want to rehome but i noticed you are looking for LF boys Widget. i wish i could help you out!

one of my boys is a partridge wyandotte crossed with cochin-sweet boy just needs his own girls to enjoy and protect! the other boy is a young barred cochin who has been a great dad with the chicks that hatched out from a broody he was in with. he's still protecting her while she's gone broody again and just seems to be a wonderful 'talker' when i check on them!

i was hoping that someone would be there with a couple of d'Uccle hens or pullets. i have a sweet boy that needs a couple of his own girls to enjoy his advances.

Wish I had some bantams that needed their own roo but for once I don't. And no that is not an invitation for people to try and convince me I need to make room for lots of bantams.

I don't need any outside influence for that to happen. Especially when there are silkies or cochins involved.
I will give my troublemaker roo credit though. I was outside today mowing the lawn and the chickens were thrilled with all the bugs I stirred up. All of a sudden the roo herded his two girls under the picnic table. I looked up and sure enough a hawk was flying overhead. A smaller bird was harassing him so he quickly left the area. A couple minutes later the chickens went back to bug foraging.
