Maine

I have some chicks for sale and thought I'd offer them here before I go to the general public.
I have 2 black silkies that carry the frizzled gene (very thick silkie fur but a bit kinky, not frizzled), one white silkie feathered possible frizzle gene but not showing signs of it. 4 weeks old.
several wyandottes in white, blue, splash different ages- mostly pullets left. ages 5-12 weeks old
orpingtons, 2 black pullets, one split to lav, 1 maybe split to choc, 2 cockeral, 1 black, split to lav and one lav. 8 weeks old

older cockeral silkie calico 8 months
younger cockeral silkie black with red highlights 4 months

pm for prices and photos.

I also would love to see a list for the Oxford Swap Sunday, if one is available.. Reeeeally hoping to find a couple of Silkie hens, but if there are none, would rather not drive an hour to be tempted by other beautiful breeds..

I only have one olive egger laying at the present, but her eggs have lightened a tad, although they're still very olive green colored. Her first few were almost army green colored, now they're more of a light olive. They look absolutely gorgeous in my cartons next to the various shades of whites, browns and lighter EE greens.

I have more gearing up to lay, probably within the next 4 to 8 weeks! I'm excited.

Now if only I could get the SIX PERSISTANT BROODIES out of the nest boxes so there's places for the general population to lay...

Love the olive egg, Coldweatherbirds! There's a whole olive-egger thread on BYC. I am trying to add olive layers to my flock. Unfortunately, I hatched mostly roosters, but I do have 2 or 3 pullets that will hopefully lay olive this fall.

I understand about the broodies, SCG! Even my leghorn is broody. The only benefit has been that a few of the hens have taken to using the community nest box (which was mostly ignored before).

Sevin is a life saver! My buff orpinton now has no mites, i picked dead ones out of her, and this morning only found 1 alive mite, by tonight none!

How do you dare to use Sevin anywhere near your chickens? That stuff is poison!

Hoppy can you post some picture of the orpingtons please

I'll post pictures of them all. (these are thumbnails so click to see larger pictures)
this is the calico cockeral

bantam blue laced wyandotte pullet (also have a darker blue pullet- sold together)

black wyandotte pullet (in front), other not for sale

blue wyandotte pullet

lavender orp cockeral

white wyandotte with black laced blue orp and black pullets.

black silkies that carry the frizzle gene (will look 100% silkie when grown but right now kind of kinky fuzz but very thick) also have a white available

and a splash wyandotte pullet?

might even decide to sell my wheaton marans hen

Well I have lost chickens ad the mites were really bad! It was causing er pain with scabbing and stuff! I would rather get rid of the mites with Sevin then not be able to show her and have her suffer! And it's not like I had a choice I needed to get rid of them by Saturday for the show and this was the quickest way! And easiest and very well known for treating them fast and easy!
