Maine

Thanks for telling me, but unfortunately, I did end up watching it before I read your post.  It was pretty awful!  I felt bad for the chicken and then, how it choked to death.  The lady with the Silkie was quite a "rig," though-definitely odd!  Got a kick out of the red diaper on her bird!
I had actually read about Mike before that. Although a wee bit creepy and walking the line of ethical, it is rather neat. The fact that he could act normally despite being headless is sort of fascinating.

mm.....maybe I need to go poke around at Marden's. The basket looks like a good size.

I am working 2, 12-hour days, so I have left care of the chickens to DH. He was telling stories about the Ameraucanas knocking down the fence and free-ranging with the older flock. Both roosters were out there, but I guess they kept away from each other. I hope everyone came home. DH does not count them, and he's not sure how many are in each flock even if he did. I think I will peek in there this morning.

How is "Maran"?

Maran is okay. She didn't eat or drink much tonight so I'm a little worried. I think it's time for some Tylan.

People who show their birds typically bathe them before a show and if you have an issue with mites or lice that is a quick-- though temporary relief, till meds kick in. I swear, I never thought I would wash, much less blow dry a chicken, but I do now.

I actually have a few somewhere. I was taking care of our first Polish cockerel, Kahuna. He was great about it- that is he seemed to really enjoy it. Its quite a thing to be blow drying the Polish 'fro.' He was the first bird I seriously washed. Since then its just business and not nearly as much fun. I washed the cochins for my son this year when he took them to show. They were not nearly as willing as that little Kahuna.

Thanks hoppy. TSC only had a 20g. I could not find a good meaty spot on her breast so I gave the injection in the back of her neck. I only hope I did it right!

Thoughts on Apple cider vinegar added to their water??

Beautiful day here and cleaning the coop apparently they only use their nesting boxes for pooping. Still no eggs :( They are 26 weeks old now.
