Does anyone have any Welsummer, Marans, or Norwegian Jaerhon that they are willing to part with ? I would REALLY like to add one to my flock.

They have announced today that the fair will not be opened on Sunday due to Irene..but will open Monday at 1. Will the show still continue at the fairgrounds on Sunday or will they change the date of that also? I hope so I am looking forward to going!

Well tomorrow is the getting ready for Irene day.

Had other plans but they can wait. Coop is secure as it is ever going to be. I know the floor and shavings are going to be soaked but there won't be any standing water. The pen is a lost cause. That will be a muddy mess no matter what I do so the birds will just have to deal with it until it dries. At least the ducks will have fun.
The goats should be fine. Their shelter is well built. Depending on wind direction they may be a bit soaked by the end but unless I let them in the house there isn't much I can do to prevent that from happening.
The horses are the biggest worry. At least their shelter is. No idea if it will withstand really strong winds. It is tied down but I will add more tomorrow. At least it won't get covered with wet heavy snow. And the horses won't be locked in just in case the shelter goes. I figure they can decide if they want to be in out of the rain.
Otherwise I will just sit back and wait for the power to go out. Flashlights are ready and I'm sure I have a book or two that I have been trying to find time to read.

Sorry...The fair comitee posted it earlier!

well about the only thing ive got left to do is fill up my generator with gas and get a few extra cans of gas for it im sure my coop is fine i just replaced all the wicks and filled up all of our oil lamps ive replaced all the batteries in my flash lights now its just a sit the storm out im sure everything will be fine bring on this storm so we can get it over with

I also need to retrieve my truck from the repair shop at some point. Hopefully the mechanic who owns the shop will let me keep it there until the beginning of the week. I really don't want to have to deal with it tomorrow. It originally was towed in so it could have the brakes repaired and a few other minor issues fixed to get a new sticker. Then I was going to give it to my niece to use for the school year. She is coming up from Florida to go to UMF and needs a car. My brother was going to pay for the repairs. But since the estimate was $1500 he changed his mind. He only wanted to spend less than $1000. I don't blame him but now I have to have the truck towed back to my house. I would love to get it fixed but I don't have a spare $1500. But if anyone is looking for a 4WD full size Chevy Silverado for a steal let me know. I would rather sell it than have it sit in my yard all winter.
