My RO and Mottled Java lay the same color. I can tell them apart by shape sometimes and by slight speckling on one end of the Javas. The bronze and green speckled are laid by the same bird. When the Marans bloom doesn't really cover the egg it looks like the speckled one, hence why the early Marans eggs have spots but not later because those spots are spread out better across the egg. I would guess your OE is a cross between a blue egg layer and either a Marans or Welsummer as my Wellies used to have spots in the beginning just like the Marans. The eggs are lovely! So, wait, I'm confused, - are the bronze green and speckled olive laid by the same bird? I like both, but especially the speckled one! I do have one bird that lays a speckled olive egg, but I have no idea where she came from (as in, which hen I crossed with my rooster to get her). Who lays the pretty cream egg?
No school here today. No motivation either. Sinus issues have me slogging around for birds and kids alike.
