Maine

Thats terrible! What the heck? Why are they favoring one farmer? Did you try to speak to the general manager of the store? Perhaps even talk to the bakery dept if the produce dept is being all shady. Thats so not cool, sorry to hear that. Maybe try your next nearest H.Fords..? Or try an entirely different chain altogether. Not sure what Shaws policy is.

My local Hannaford won't share!  When I asked, I got a very rude response.  They give all of their stuff to a local farmer, and won't let any one else have so much as a bread crust.

I would suggest you contact them through either facebook or through their corporate office. Mention that you were ticked that only one guy has a monopoly on the store and if anything inquire where else you can go.

It's a shame your store is acting that way. My surrounding stores are awesome and they give it away to private farmers, a local zoo, a gleaner & small time folk like me. One time the gleaner was there when I was and he said his pig bins were full anyway and I scored an entire pickup truck full of amazing food for my birds! I spread it around my neighborhood.

Guinea keets will be ready to go out as soon as this weather breaks to intro pen for a few weeks. This same friend gave me like 30 guinea eggs for my bator, so will have some next month if anyone is interested.
My mother and sister will be looking for keets in a couple of weeks. My sister expressed interest last week and didn't know where she was going to get them from, but she is in Israel right now, and I won't be able to get a number from her until later this week.

The Brewer Hannaford has this program available. Talk to any of the managers, fill out a form and take in your bucket. I started to do this, but my girls are just SO PICKY! And I only had 5 of them, the last time I went. I think I will continue with it, next fall.

Howdy ya'll ! :frow Just thought I'd drop in and say hello from Nova Scotia, Canada. I've been following this thread for almost a year. My wife and I have traveled to Maine every Summer for the last three and will be over again in July (July 1st-9th). Was wondering if anyone knows where I can pick up some hatching eggs for either Golden Laced Wyandotte, Silver Laced Wyandotte or Blue Orpington. Thanks so much in advance :) Hope everyone is having a great Spring so far !
