Winner

haha yah, I'll be sure and do that.

So evidently the order for three khaki ladies turned into three khaki drakes. I'll be trying to trade/sell two of them for some ladies now I guess. Just when I thought I was done messing around with this, and could actually build them a nice house and let them enjoy themselves!

Where did you get them? sounds like you had the same professional sexing your Khaki's that did my Doms last year. I think that person missed his calling in life and should have been a weather man!
After a week of checking an empty trap we finally caught something ferocious that was digging in the compost pile for the quitter hatching eggs. I just don't know how I'm going to get it out without being attacked;-)
That is truly one vicious creature. I didn't know they lived this far north! In my younger days, that critter wouldn't have been safe for me. He would have immediately been carted to the back yard and set up in Turtle haven. I had an awesome turtle habitat in my back yard when i was a kid.

Still no luck with our Rocky. However, i did find out that chickens like marshmallows. The roo ran off with one and ate half of it before his sweet (tooth?) was satisfied.

SCG, you love freaky birds! She (he?) should fit right in.

So, he just showed up in your yard? I would think with the tick issue that you'd invite him to stay, and perhaps get him a lady friend. I hear they LOVE squash bugs. What's not to love about such an eco friendly creature?

When I came home from work today this little freakshow was in the run with the rest of the flock and was fitting right in. I have no idea where it came from. Are there wild guineas?

My birds had a mite infestation in October last year, it was a pain to get rid of it. I suspect that this bird likely has creepy crawlies, and if so, has likely already gifted them to my flock.

You can always hope he goes to bed with your flock, and stuff him in a pillow case full of poultry dust... or perhaps give him a dose of ivermectin. Perhaps, you'll have to follow him around until he goes to roost ... most likely in the highest tree on your property, and climb up after him with that bottle of ivermectin in your hip pocket.

Did i tell you all about my cat's exploits this weekend? I looked out in the back yard to see half a dozen of the youngsters (chicks) standing in a circle on high alert. I looked down over the deck rail to see them surrounding my cat, who had a field mouse cradled between his paws. Mouse was in ""terrorized freeze" mode. Chickens were totally fascinated with the mouse. Cat was totally peeved at his audience. His tail was just thrashing. They all stayed in this mode for a couple of minutes... until... mouse made a break for it... which sent chickens into a wild stampede for safety... which spooked the cat, and he took off around the side of the house. Mouse won that round.

Wow!!! I am not a fan of surprise visitors! ! Lol...

Still can't get the 2+mo to integrate with the hens and roo...they go right into the garage and in their cage at night. ..at least they know to go in I guess. Moved the 2 crazy AND super flighty 5 wks polish duo and the rescue BR/EE with the disfigured leg into a large dog kennel in the garage as well. That was probably amusing to watch as they were jumping up and dust was every where and I was thinking I should have thought to wear goggles to protect my eyes as I tried to catch them without flying away.

Now just have chicks in the house. So far a total of 3 hatched this weekend with a 4th pipped. Very excited as I have been trying to hatch my OE eggs.

My broody of 4 days came out to eat and drink and went right back in BUT sat on the newest laid eggs from today. ..DH tried to switch them out and she started pecking him. One of the eggs that hatched yesterday was hers too. We expected it to be another BO but were surprised to see this cut little black bird. Hopefully it will be mottled like its mom.

:lau would love to see that video!

So, I don't have anything as funny as LG or as freaky as SCG, but I did rehome one of my BOs, today and she left in style: a newer model, "candy apple" red, Ford Mustang convertible. Way to go, Buffy!

If you're serious about getting rid of him, I do have a co-worker who wanted a male. I don't know enough about them to tell, but if that is a male--he'd probably take it for you.

Oh snappy turtles. I just went out to get the mail. I saw two laying eggs on the side of the road, watched one cross the road safely. Then I heard a tumble and splash. Looked over the bank and a giant turtle was about to go swimming. Yesterday, had a slider looking for a place to lay on my lawn.

The previous year we had a giant snapping turtle by the coop with numerous chickens milling about it! That was scary, my husband shooed it back into the pond with a shovel. It's amazing how many of them their are!

Super Chemical Girl~ That guinea fowl is so cute! You have to keep him/her!

Ok, yes I am a sucker for abandoned/ stranded/ lost/ whatever animals. A few days ago me and a friend rescued an abandoned kitty. So, if anyone wants a gray male cat maybe a year old. He's getting fixed today and all shots! Let me know. He's super cute, sweet and a good mouser! We named him Zane Gray.
