I have personally seen some of your chickens (as well as buying a few) and they are all absolutely gorgeous ! (And the ones I have bought have very good temperaments.) You do a great job with them. Some people on here think they know everything

, don't let anyone discourage you.

thank you kinsey, temperment in any animal is important and in my book, I won't keep an aggressive rooster, there just are too many nice ones to use a rotten but beautiful one.

See, any publicity is good publicity, I guess. I will look to you in spring for silkies now, too. I think some folks just have to pick on others to make themselves feel better.
They seemed like a pretty organized group, too. Yikes.

I feel like sharing some pictures.

My Blue Copper Maran rooster lording over his flock.

A mystery bird that came with the Black Stars from McMurray. She is bantam sized I think, any idea what she might be? Not the best picture. She is long and slender in build.

The coop my DH built me this summer.

If she came from McMurray, she's a silver phoenix. I ordered one from them. Unfortunately I don't have a good picture of her, but here's one that makes her look fat (and she's not):

She's incredibly meek, spends 23.5 hours a day on the roost, hates being with the rest of the flock. She was broody most of the spring and summer, too. I let her hatch out chicks but she wasn't a protective mom due to her meekness.

Yes!!! I google-imaged silver phoenix and that is what she looks like! So pretty. I like her body shape and proportions. I wonder if she is a bantam or is just a small bird, what I read says they are generally small. She is timid. The lowest of the low in my flock. But she goes out free-range with the others and is super quick, so she's holding her own. My rooster is huge... I hate to think what will happen if he gets interested in her.
