Hi! I live in Monticello, Maine (ain't going further than that!) and would like to know if anyone is close to me, maybe just too hang out online, do chicken echanges, sell chickens (even though I would never sell my hens or certain roosters), or just so I can know if there is anyone nearby, I would also like it if I could buy chicks from somewhere or find a friend that can chicken sit. (They would have to be GREAT friends though)

I thought I was possibly the farthest-flung member here! I'm downeast- almost Washington County. But I think you've got me beat! Wish I were close enough for chicken sitting...

Just wanted to pop in and let you know there's a new Mainiac on BYC. I don't currently have any birds, but this spring my husband and I will be moving and starting our homestead. We'll be looking to pick up hatching eggs and/or chicks, and maybe some adult laying hens starting in May. Currently in Bangor, moving back to my childhood home in Orland.

Just wanted to put it out there that if anyone is or knows anyone who would be interested in mixed breed chicks, message me. I am willing to put as many as I need to in the incubator. The parents are all from good laying backgrounds and/or lay well themselves. Most of our birds are also good dual-purpose birds(although we have a few brown leghorns and EEs). Willing to sell any day old to week old chicks for $4 apiece, $1 for every week following.

Hi! I'm sorry but I have not spare roosters, we used to have an Australorp and a Sebright but they are gone now. I now only have a Silver Duckwing rooster.
Also, it is awsome that you live nearby and own chickens too.

Np. I have a broody chicken I'm hoping to get a descendant of my leghorn who recently passed. We will see, she has a lot of eggs. I need to candle them soon. I love seabrights, living cartoons. Ty anyways

I'm in the Bangor area. If you're interested we have nice full-grown light Brahma roos and a white silkie roo. I also have plenty of cockerel chicks of multiple mixed breeds.

Ty, but i think my hubby really wants another leghorn. It kinda broke his heart when his only one passed. Only another week or so to see if we have one hatch. Its also our first broody hen so fingers are crossed. Plus he hates Bangor, too much like a city and we dont go that far out but i appreciate it.
