Maine

I brought in to the windsor fair for sale a black silkie cockerel with silver in the hackles and a paint silkie cockerel (your first generation you will produce paints bred to black or white hens).
I sold the extra pullets last weekend at the augusta swap, still growing out a few more but those won't go until about oct or next spring.
Are you bringing any silkie pullets?

I just looked out my bedroom window and this is what I see- I'm wondering how this would have gone down if I had let the girls out of the run a little earlier?

please excuse the horrible quality- taken from inside through the (dirty) window!

it wouldn't have been a problem. I have wild turkeys out with mine all time. the only ones it bothers are the roosters but once they realized how large the turkeys were, they decided it was A Okay, for the turkeys to be there and the turkeys didn't give the roos a 2nd look.

my neighbors chickens are getting awefully bold. one was camped outside my chicken run last night just prior to bed time. you'd think since my dog was the one that killed his 1 or 2 wandering buddies he would just home to the rest of his flock and stay there. (it did go home when it started to get dark.) maybe I should just let my chickens out and have it join my flock.

My chickens think they are the toughest thing around- they chase both of my cats now- they look like they wanted to chase the turkeys too... silly chickens!

I have a big announcement: The first of our younger birds had started laying!!!! 19 week old Buff Orp. WoooooHoooooo! (finally!)

Mine have chased flocks of wild turkeys off of "their" property.

Did you sell your black silkie cockerel? I am looking for a show quality black to cover my 4 black pullets.
