Maine

I really like what you wove. It's beautiful.

Hope you found the egg thread. It's simple to do. I have no artistic talent whatsoever, and can do it just fine. Others are showing how to make wreaths with eggs and other cute decorations.

My first foray back into chicken (it was about 8 years without, too) we just put some olive oil, salt and pepper on it and roasted it whole in the oven. It was delicious. We've also fried some, but one of my favorites was putting them in a cast iron skillet over veggies, they were covered with oil, salt, pepper and italian or parm bread crumbs, can't remember, then baked. I put foil over it for most of the baking except the end and it was the most tender, juicy chicken, ever.

You people must stop saying you lack artistic talents! Gorgeous weaving, SCG's stunning eggs, not to mention Hoppy's glass work and emu eggs.
I think the Maine thread is a very talented group, and I'm an art teacher so you have to listen to me  !

chicken recipe- when I'm out of ideas, I use chicken breast, slice them thin, then pound them out to about 1/4 inch thinkness- I think dredge in flour, put in an egg wash, and then coat with a breakcrump mixture- I use panko, garlic powder, fresh shredded parm. cheese and salt and pepper, and a good amount of olive oil to help with browning- then bake for about 20 minutes at oh....375 I think? it's sort of like a healthy version of fried chicken- and you can add whatever seasonings you want. You can also use it to make chicken parmesan.

thanks buckabucka!
I make awesome chicken (that's what the kids named it)
take 1/3 of each, honey, bbq sauce, soy sauce and put in a baking dish with boneless, skinless chicken, roll it around in the sauce and then cook covered (in the sauce) for 30mins or until done. serve with the sauce dizzled on top, for a bit thicker sauce, uncover for the last 10 mins.

Hoppy thank you for the info on eggs. I feel pretty stupid now.

SCG... you know they have a *** button too? I need to get one for me and one for your desk lol

Mk crocheting is one of the easiest tings to learn! There are a few on line links that are step by step with pics and everything, or video. Once you learn two or three basic steps you can learn them all because they build on each other.

You know bucka.... this might not be the best time to say that you might be the only art teacher I have met who has any taste.

My favorite chicken recipe involves butterflying the breast so I can stuff it with gorgonzola and shredded spinach. I also add garlic or vidalia onions (whatever I have) or sundried tomatoes or mushrooms and the kicker is when I have enough money I wrap it in proscuitto! OH BOY! Bake in the oven and viola! YUM

Well I am certainly artistically challenged. I can't even make a paint by number come out looking good.

Fox was back this morning.

Pretty sure he was there for the chickens by my old dog was also outside near the pen so he might have been sizing her up for a meal. Poor dog didn't even notice him. Then the kitten was outside running around. Had to chase him to get him back inside so he didn't get a breakfast invitation. But not missing birds this afternoon when I arrived home so the fox went off with an empty belly.

Had to go into Portland today to get a death certificate at City Hall. Glad I read the requirements before hand. Had to have id ready plus proof that I was related to the deceased. Also glad that I knew where my birth certificate was since that was what I needed to prove that I could request a copy of my mother's death certificate. Easy enough in the end but I really hate the city. Way to much chaos and concrete. How I lived in Chicago for two years is beyond me. I so prefer the sticks.

glad the fox left empty handed. i think the city makes us appreciate the country peace and qiuet more. I used to live in NYC right next to a heliport. they would take off at all hours of the night but you know what, after awhile I never heard them first week back in the country was hard to sleep with all the quiet.

this weekend is the central maine bird fanciers annual christmas auction (i've probably already told you all that), anyway, I am offering up a diachromic pendant that I have made. it is almost finished, just need to fire it one more time and then add the bale to hang it from.
I know not everyone can make it to the auction (although we would love to have you come join us)
I am taking sealed bids on it for the auction to be opened at the bidding for those that can't attend. I will pay for shipping to the winning bidder if they are not present or we can't get it to you via another club member.
I will take paypal from the winning bidder or a check made out to the club .
I will add the picture later since it's not liking me right now.
I can take bids by pm or email up until saturday 8:00pm that I will seal and bring to the auction- auction is at 1:00 on sunday at the evening star grange hall in washington (on the bill luce rd)
check back here for pictures and please post if you are sending me a bid so i can be looking for it.

I lived in town Hallowell for almost 2 years, and that was barely do-able. It's a super little city, but I don't like being THAT close to other people. The sticks is where it's at. We've got plans to move either north of Farmington or Monson/Abbot area in the next 5 years or so. That's where I'll start my not really a commune commune.....

found yellow lab
Have you seen my family?

I was brought in from Evans Road in Vassalboro on November 14th. The staff here at KVHS have named me Georgia, I am a very sweet female Yellow Lab. If you know who my people are, tell them to call the shelter and take me home!
