what is green mount layer pellets, is it a brand from around the northeast?

Hi Speed. They are made in Vermont and organic. Thought I would give it a try and it looks like the bag I purchased from a local store was probably an old bag and my ladies wouldn't eat it. Got the new bag from Eric @ Green Mountain yesterday and they are eating just fine and much happier! Good product. Here is the link: http://www.greenmountainfeeds.com/default.aspx so you can check it out if you want to

Yeah I checked it out. I have a dealer about a mile down the road here in Berwick. The Critter Barn. they are real nice people at The Critter Barn.

Cool! The place I got mine from is about 25 miles away (one way). Other than that my choices are Dumor, Purina and Blue Seal. I have used the Purina with good results. Dumor, not so much-I try to stay away from it. I have only used the Blue Seal chick starter but they like that. Would love to see Countryside around here but I doubt that will happen.

mine seem to love the blue seal brand. I just built a auto feeder today for them. I thought it was just big enough to hold a 50LB bag of feed, turns out it will hold (2) 50LB bags. LOL

At least you're prepared should more chickens find their way to your coop! Can you post a picture of it? Thinking about going that route when the new coop is built (hopefully soon 10 babies in the brooder).
